Families Relocated After the World War II Within Yugoslavia

After the WWII  ended in 1945.  250 000 people (42 000 families)  were relocated  and colonized by the communist authorities to other parts of the country mainly from devastaded areas  in Croatia and Bosnia, and almost by default ethnic Serbs. You will need to research  in villages and towns to which they were sent ( Vojvodina province in Serbia)  to find relatives and information.

Due to family ties, the bulk of the refugees from the most recent  conflicts settled in and around  these previously  colonized places too.

Serbian Genealogy Society will publish complete lists and relocation reports and studies here as subpages in the free section of the website.

However, most of the data we obtained recently relating to these migrations is protected by privacy and copyright laws, and these documents are available only to the SGS “RODOSLOVLJE” members upon individual member request.
