Jeff, As Sergej said, I took a shot in the dark. I wrote a letter. Then had it tranlated. Sent it off to 31 Radakovic's in the Lika area. I have 29 more to go to the Karlovac area. Now it's a waiting game for an answer. Your lucky. The name is rare and not many!!

Sheila,
If you don't mind we asking what kind of things did you include in your letter and did you get any reponses?
Thanks
jeff
Jeff, You may ask any question that comes to mind. As members, I think we should try and help each other if we can. What I did was write a blamket letter. In this letter. I stated who I was, and where I lived. Then gave what information I had on my great grandparents and grandparents, which isn't much. Then asked "if" any of the information given was known, please write and let me know, that I was searching for family. I sent these letters out about 2 weeks ago or so. It takes about that long for mail to get there. I'm waiting now to see if I get any responces from any of them. As I said I still have more to go. The name Radakovic is quite a common name over there. This may take some time. If you wish, send me your e-mail address and I will send you an example of what I wrote.
Your lucky, I've had no luck with any of the archives yet:(. But I won't give up, cause in my heart I know I have cousins somewhere over there. I just have to find them!

Sheila

We posted a letter template that you can use to inquire yourself. You can download it here: http://www.rodoslovlje.com/modules.php?name=Downloads
Please try to do one ancestor at a time.
