Looking of for my g,g,grandfathers birth or death record his name was possibly Louis Sinev. I found his wife Julianna Sinev b.1885(Terek or Torok maiden name), coming to New York in 1920 listed as a widowed. Her hometown was listed as Novi Sad, Jugoslavia.
my grandfather was 16 at the time he came to the US with his mother and sister.
Also in what country could I petition for citizenship? Hungry or Serbia?

OK, couple of questions. Citizenship? Why? That isn't easy.
As far for Novi Sad, that is in Vojvodina, Serbia currently.Their archives should have all the info you need.
