Birth records, Ujvidek . Novi Sad 1900's

Hi,
i am trying to track my grandfather's family history. i have a document ( british passport) which shows he was norn Ujvidek in 1907 his name was Nicholas Eichner. he left in the 1930's and settled in the UK and changed his name. any help in the right places to look would be greatly appreciated

Hi Nick,

You said he changed his name. What was it before? Do you have any immigration documents?

Oh before I forget, if you have any documents do you see the variant in spelling as : Ajhner ?

A quick other reply, the surname if spelled Ajhner is still used in Novi Sad. In the Serbia they spell words as they speak them.

Hello, I am also looking for family in Novi Sad. My great grandfather was named Gabriel/ Joseph Prekajac. My great grandmother was Stefania Ledgenac.. there also seems to be documents listing a town or Provence named Sombor.any tips on locating information?
