In my previous post, I realized that an alternative spelling is "Brnijca." This is where I believe my mother was born, but can't be sure because she came to the United States as "displaced person" and had no birth certificate.
Brnijca is on the Danube River, near Golubac. I know that my mother was baptized in the Orthodox church. Her date of birth was February 15, 1937.
Is it possible to obtain birth or baptismal records from that time?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Looking for anyone who might know something of the children of Zivko and Milka Radivojevic, who lived in Brnjica in Golubac region in the 1930's.
Thank you.

The Brnjica you seem to be thinking of belongs to the Golubac municipality ( Braničevo County) so the records should be there (yes, church records too). Again, the best waz to go about this would be to go there personally and request records. Ićm supposing this isnćt a convenient option for you so I would suggest you try writing or contacting the Municipality by phone for further instructions. The modernization of the entire process of obtaining current records in Serbia i s underway so you just may have some luck in contacting someone there and recieving further instructions. I'm pretty sure you'll run into someone who speaks some English there. Here is the contact info for the Golubac Municipality and remember to have as much information on hand for them as possible:
address: Cara Lazara 15, 12223 Golubac, Serbia
tel: +381 12 78 128
Good luck and please be sure you let us know what you came up with so we can keep other researchers up to date on the process in Serbia!
