Hello - some advice please Sergej,
A question on what records might be kept in the community where my father grew up - the village of Brzohode - apparently 280 houses (according to Radivoj) and a church and cemetery in the village. Therefore there must be a priest - what church records would be kept and how far back do the records go?? Who would I best contact? I have spoken to my cousins through an interpreter but they seem uncertain as well (but I will try talking to them as well). Apparently some of my fathers family are buried in a plot with Kostic on the headstone.
My daughter gets married next weekend/graduates from University this weekend and goes to Norway to live in February!! So I will be giving her lots of addresses to visit family. Dusan gave me a gift of Suvoborska Sliva (Slivowitz?) - in a beatuiful plum shaped bottle. Looks beautiful...I always remember my father giving me a taste of this spirits - powerful stuff!! We will open the bottle to celebrate the wedding.
All the best
Regards
Stephan
I believe you should contact the archives of Kragujevac and Smederevska Palanka. You can find their addressess in the Message List; Topic Addressess of Archives.

As for the Slivovic, take it easy, it drinks easy but the it has a backlash
Congrats on the wedding and graduation and good luck.

Sergej
Thanks Sergej,
I will write to these archives - also talk to Dusan some more - and contact family in Poljana tomorrow night to get it clear what we do know. Maybe a few things got lost in the translation ....
My daughter saw the bottle of Slivovic on the table and immediately wanted to open it to have a taste!! I said - we open it at the wedding function...
Have a drink and a toast for us on Saturday night .. we are looking forward to this event.
All the best
Regards
Stephan
