Is there somebody doing a research in the Cacak area?

I'm looking for my grandfathers grandfather grandfather Nikola, unfortunately I don't have any surname. He was born early 1800's. He moved to the Bosilegrad area
most likely before 1850.

Any information about Cacak at that time could be valuable.

Thanks.

I'm from Cacak and would like to help you with your ancestry, but without more information it would be imposible. What about Nikola's occupation, his slava (Saint Day of family), or something else. Maybe there are some records for Bosilegrad region which could help.

What's Nikola's family present last name and slava (if they celebrate). Send more info!

Bogdan

P.S. Happy New Year!

Bogdan, Thanks for your reply and interest in helping me.

I know that the current family slava is St Petka (Petkovdan).

I don't know Nicola's occupation, but the story is that he had to move away due
to the turks (exact reason unknown). If he was married when he moved is also unknown. He had 5 children, Velko,Janko,Novko,Bojko and Peta. I have the family tree all the way back to Nikola but it's mainly with first names. When the family lived in the Bosilegrad area they used the"bulgarian" way of setting the last names, take the grandfathers first name as last name. They stopped to do that when they moved to Skopje, Macedonia. Nikolas family live today mainly in Bosilegrad,Vranje,Belgrade,Panchevo and Skopje.

Regarding records for Bosilegrad it's hard to find something online and to go there is a little difficult since i live in Sweden.

Thanks again
Bobby

Maybe you can find something in Rista Nikolic's book "Krajiste i Vlasina".
