Hi everyone,

My uncle and I are trying to trace our family history and we need some assistance in accessing records in both Croatia and Serbia as we are based in Canada and the UK respectively and in any event neither of us reads or speaks Serbian or Croatian.

My Grandfather, Milos Bjelobaba, came from Udbina in the Lika region of Croatia. He was born in 1889. He immigrated to the United States in 1905. He subsequently moved to Canada and then sailed to join the Serbian Army during the First World War. We believe he left Canada in the spring of 1915.

We don't know a great deal about my Grandfather except that his mother may have been married three times and that he was the only child of the third marriage. He travelled to the United States with a brother/half brother and worked for another relative, possibly another half-brother or uncle. After the First World War he ended up in Russia.

We are interested in discovering the names of my Grandfather's parents, and through them other relatives who may still be living in the Udbina or Serbia. We are also interested in discovering his war record to see if it can shed any light on how he ended up in Russia.

Can any one recommend reliable genealogical researchers in Croatia and Serbia who can assist us in trying to obtain information about my Grandfather.
