My great-grandparents were Danica and Stefan Culic, who apparently emigrated to the United States from Stapar. Their children included Cajica (Casper), Mladen (Mickey), and Leposava (Lillian), all of whom came to the US. However, one son, Rade, who I believe was the eldest, remained in what was then Yugoslavia. I'm not sure, however, where he lived but I believe he was married and did have at least one child. I'm just not sure if it was a son or daughter.
My grandmother, Zorka Culic Mihajlovic, emigrated with her husband, Milorad, but from Erdut, Croatia. Rumor had it that Milorad came from a family that either owned or operated a vineyard. He left when my father was an infant, and we know nothing about him or his family.
I am looking for records of births, baptisms, and deaths. I'd like to find out if I have any relatives remaining in the area. I'm traveling there in the summer of 2008.
The third son of Danica and Stefan Culic, named Trifun not Rade, was married in Stapar and he had one year aged son Kosta. For this reson he did not emigrated with his parents in United States 1921. The second daughter of Danica and Stefan, Zorka was married in Erdut (Croatia) and also did not emigrated with her parents. Several months later Zorka and Milorad joined her parents in U.S., but my grandfather Trifun never. So I am Momir Culic, born in Stapar, where there is only one Culic's family. Unfortunately Mira didn't find them in 2008. I am living in Belgrade and would like to contact Mira or any other relatives. My English is not so good, but we could communicate by email [email protected].
Momire hvala na javljanju i informacijama nadam se da ćete stupiti u kontakt sa rođakom.
