My great-grand father Mihailo Djordjevic from Veliko Gradiste married my great -grand mother Ruzica (do not know her maiden name, but she was supposedly very closely related to pop Luka Lazarevic of First Serbian Uprising fame) and the only info that I do have is that Mihailo and Ruzica moved to Belgrade some time around the World War I and they had 5 daughters who later lived in Belgrade(2), Nis(2) and Sarajevo(1).
I am aware of nineteenth century politician Milos Djordjevic who came to Gradiste from Kragujevac whose wife was also named Ruzica, but I am not sure how could I establish was Milos somehow related to my great grand father Mihailo because church records in Gradiste have been destoryed during Bulgarian occupation according to official web site !
Any help with this, or with fiuguring out descendants of pop Luka Lazarevic (I have names of his five sons from both marriages, but that is where it stops) is greatly appreciated !!!
Hi,
I dont know if you live in Serbia but your best bet would be the opstina in V.G and the archives in Pozarevac. For your self write down a pedigree and you can either go there or write them.
According to law churches also need to put their books in the archives so its the central place to search for info.
