Dear Sergej & Associates:
Congratulations on your wonderful website -- it is so nicely done and I wish you great success in the coming year.
I can trace my German ancestors from Srbija back as early as the 1760's, when they arrived from the Black Forest and Moravia. Most of them came to America in the early 1900's before WWI, but some remained during those tumultous years and later.
I am working on web pages dedicated to my ancestors' villages in West Backa: Batsch-Brestowatz, Karawukowa, Milititsch, Batsch-Sentiwan, Hodschag, Stapar & Doroslo (we use the German village names). They can be accessed through DVHH.org and look in the village index, or find it under my name on the Volunteer page. I have just begun publishing and am "under construction," so please bear with me and check back periodically. I had the most information on Batsch-Brestowatz (Szilberek), so I started with that village. Perhaps next year I should have material presented for all these villages.

Thank you. Please contact me over the PM if you need anything. I speak fluent Serbian and German and we are working on a database that is translating names of places into the Serbian, German and Hungarian.

Hi Nancy,
My father's family are German's and are from the area you are talking about. The Last names are Hettich, Eiy. I am interested if you have come upon any of these names. There are others but will have to check them out.
Any help would be appreciated.
