Hi Pat - I have contacted UK Red Cross for their archives. These are patchy but some exist. These overlooked displaced people in UK and may have acurate records.

hi andy

thanks for that i did email them last week asking if they had any archives on displaced persons, but am still waiting for a reply.and now you have answered that question for me,all the archives in the areas that he was sent to have no records available.
was you able to find who holds the records for seedorf camp?i was given a email adress and number to contact, but there records didnt start till 1950,which of course was to late as grandfather left in 1947.
i also emailed the ravna gore in london and the serbian church but havent recieved any answers yet.

all the best pat

Hi Pat - Try dp camp zeven on google. Lots of information on dp camps in Germany and contact numbers. I too will check out these as we both have same camps and corresponding dates of residence. Let me know if you come up with anything.

Hello gostic

My father in law was also in seedorf camp and came to England in 1947. He also couldn't go back to Slovenia. We don't know much about his time in the war he never spoke about it, but I also have his papers and some pictures at one stage he was with the red cross in a british zone.
best regards

Anton arrived at Bedhampton Camp on 3 april 1948. he was a private in Yugoslave army 1944-45 .
He carried a picture of King Peter and a coat of arms I sent this off to King peters son Prince Alexander and his top man sent me info about the coat of arms.

Anton was in Ross-Shire on the 27 July 1948/ in Lincon 21st Oct 1948/ Notts County 26th Oct 1948/ Beverley Yorkshire 10th Dec 1948/ Notts County 24th Dec 1948/ Miners Hostel Gateford Road Worksop 31st Dec1948/ Glamorgan Wales bApril 1949 married in 1950.
I have pics of him in some camps but don't know where they were taken.
