After WWII the Socialists of Tito were in charge in what used to be Yugoslavia. The Partisans were (kinda) favoured by the new regime in those day's and the other side Chetniks were prosecuted. I wont go in to it too much since its politics. But needless to say that if a village was the scene of fighting and struggle it would have been prohibited to enter there freely. That could be one of the reasons. But then again we Serbs can be weird from time to time and it was just nothing besides some Cops with a bad hair day

Bijelo Polje
Bijelo Polje is a town in northern Montenegro.
It is the centre of the municipality of the same name (population of 50,284), which is part of geographical region of Sandžak. It is unofficial centre of north-eastern region of Montenegro. Bijelo Polje means literally "White Field" in Serbian.

I have spoken with my mother about what my grandfather called his "Glory Day". It was a celebration of a Saint which took place in November. Any idea which Saint this may have been?
