Hello,
I am currently investigating and looking for any information about my ancestor Ignat Nedinski born about the early 1800's and spent part of his life in Litakovo, Bulgaria.
I do not know if he was born in Bulgaria, but I know that he has spent some time abroad of Bulgaria, probably in Serbia or Romania. I would appreciate that if anyone has information about this name, its origine and evetually this person to share with me.
Many thanks,
Grigor.
Hello Grigor,
Did he migrate to some other country. Meaning him being your forefather, where do you live now and did he go to this country? If so then you should first start with looking at immigration records where you live to see what they say.
I fear that if you only have a surname and no dates nor places then it's very difficult to do any research. Do you still have family in Bulgaria? Maybe contacting the archives in Litakovo could belong to a possibility.
Please tell me where you've been with your researching.

Dear Grigor,
you could be 90% sure that your ancestor wasn't Serb. Why?
Because the Serbian variation of his first name would then be "Ignjatije". Both Ignat and Ignjatije came from Latin name Ignatius. Another variation, that is more common amongst Serbs today is Ognjen, as Latin word "ignis" (fire) is said "oganj" in Serbian.
