Hello,

I am looking for informations of my grandfather Hans Janicz. He was born 01.01.1921 in Apatin, Serbia. In 1937-1938 he went to hungary to make an apprenticeship as a butcher and then go to hungary army - after war captivity he escaped to germany an then lived, marriaged and died there.

I looked in some familybooks of Apatin, but the name Janic wasnt found there.

I hope somebody could help me.

Thanks
Stefan

Hi,

there are books, which include all informations from church records of a village or a state for a certain time. I dont know the english synonym - in german it is called "OrtsfamilienbÃјcher (1:1 city family books) " or "OrtssippenbÃјcher"

For Apatin are existing severeal books with informations of familiy names, etc.

Did you check with the district archive in Apatin since not all books are stored in the churches these days.

Sergej

Thank you very much for this information.

Are these mail-adresses two different archieves?

I only speak german, french, english and russian, so I think I write a short mail in english.

Would it be possible to you to make a short translation from english into serbian for me?

thanks
stefan
