I'm looking for information on my Grandmother Katalin Wingert, She was born January 6, 1880 in Nemet Elemer,
Torontal, Hungary. I have contacted Budapest, Hungary, and they told me this are is now Serbia. I have a copy of a baptismal certificate with the name Zrenjanin. My Great-grandmother was Borbala Keller and my Great-grandfather was Peter Wingert.
My Grandmother came to the United States, in 1909 with my mother, who was 6 years old at the time. Grandma died the following year. Her married name was Ferdinand. She married Jozsef Ferdinand who was born in Berskerek, Torontal, Hungary on November 21, 1881. He also came to the United States in 1909. My mother
Ida was born in Tisza Hegyes, Torontal, Hungary, on June 23, 1903.
I am looking for as much information on my grandparents and any relatives that might still be living.

Village name Német-Elemér means German Elemer,and it`s now Elemir in Serbia,province Vojvodina,municipality(town,city) Zrenjanin-hungarian Nagybecskerek(Great,Big Becskerek),later just Becskerek.
So,it figures-Winger und Keller are german names :)
Jozsef is also a german name but with hungarian spelling-Joseph in english, and Ferdinand german too :)
Tiszahegyes(not Tisza Hegyes) is now Idjos,also in Serbia,province Vojvodina,municipality Kikinda(hungarian Nagykikinda,german Gross-Kikinda,english Big Kikinda).

You should try contacting Catolic archdiocese in Belgrade,Serbia, perhaps they could help you gaining some more info-they`ve kept all their records since catolic temples were never destroyed in Balkanian wars like ortodox did.

Roman Catholic records for IĐOŠ are available online via Kalocsa diocese e-archive:

We do look-ups of available records in this e-archive for members of "Rodoslovlje".
