I recently felt like researching my maternal grandfathers surname which was Klancic. He was born in Belgrade but unfortunately that is all i know. His Brother spelled the name differently though as Klanchich. I am unsure if having the two spellings will help at all. I am interested in the origin and meaning of the name.

What sort of info do you need? When me immigrated here it was originally spelled Klanćić. His first name was Ljubomir and he was born in Belgrade. He is mother was Macedonian (FYROM). I have reason to believe he was ethnically Serbian well Serbian-Macedonian but i have heard otherwise. My grandmother said his father was a Turk but i am skeptical.

Klanchich is the anglified version of the surname. You need a date/place of birth otherwise it would be looking for a needle in a haystack.
