There are people in Germany with the surname Turk, it doesn't mean they are actually Turks. I wish it were that simple though ;-)

Yes, that's true, but when researching in Montenegro, ones name can easily be tracked to which "group" you belonged, (Ethnicity, Religion) as Muharem Fejzullahu is Albanian Muslim, Gjon Nikaj is Albanian Christian (Malisore?), Cica Neau is Cincar/Vlach, Sinan Kalac is Bosniak (Sandzaklija?), of course it is assumptions, but if you have nothing to go for, why dont speculate?? Answer me, if my name is Bogoljub Petrovic, which religion do I belong to and which ethnic group? If my name is Stane Grohar? Ivo Horvat?

Simon Macan Sisul is clearly Catholic, if not Croat - Albanian, if not Albanian, something else, but it gives you a direction

Simon Macan Sisul could have become a US citizen and a Jehova Witness for all you know. He could be adopted etc.

Ah yes but that is something different then just bluntly stating he was Croat and Catholic. I do not have problems with assumptions and speculations but then post them as such instead. Genealogy is a science and not always that easy. Ethnicity, nationality and religion are often connected in SE Europe with names while our research in the past showed that many people are not from an ethnic group but from another. There have been a lot of migrations, mixes and vocabulary changes especially the last decades.

Again I don't have a problem with assumptions, but then say that you think he is Croation because such as so. That would help people more.

My 2 cents ;-)

Sergej

U cemu je fora sa onim Turk prezimenima po Njemačkoj, Austriji... Jel im to nesto znaci. Poznavao sam jednu devojku sa tim prezimenom tamo, i bas je onako "crne kose, crne puti"- ali naravno kaze da nije turkinja

Izvinjavam se za digresiju.
