I am searching for members of my maternal family - knowledge of family of Anica (Zezelj) Alavanja (d. 1991) or Nicola Alavanja.(d? 1942-5).
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

If you can post some more detailed info on the SGS (for members) forum and I will get as much info as I can.

Regards,
Sergej

was unsure how to do this. Okay. Nicola Alavanja (d. 1942-45? - no one knows) was married to Anica (Zezelj) Alavanja in / around Kula Atlagic, Benkovac. I believe they didn't stray far from their families and both had several siblings (unsure of their names). They had 2 children Srbo (now Ljubo) Alavanja (b.1940) and Darinka (m. Pero Grubac, Karlovac in early 1960's). Srbo lives in Zagreb (but has no web access) and Darinka lives in Canada. She is my mother. No one seems to have any names for me or have kept any genealogical threads. I'm looking for anything. How many brothers did my grandfather have? Where is the extended family? etc.

Dear Lilly,

My mom was reading this and told me to write back. She says she was your grandmother's neighbour. She says that she heard your mother lives in Canada, around Hamilton, ON. SHe thinks your grandfather had 2 brothers but she is not sure but she says she can ask her parents. She says she doesn't remember their names because they died a long time ago. If we can help you in any other way you can feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] and we will see what we can do.
