My family name is Mullion also spelt Mulijan.
My father Anton Mullion was born in Then Sonta Yugoslavia DOB: 13.7.1922 I dont have a birth certificate for dad but this is what I know.
My father met and married my Mother Maria Lukitsch DOB: 21.2.1928 also born in Sonta. Both were catholic. My parents migrated to Germany in 1953 then in 1959 migrated to Australia where they spent the rest of their lives.
Dads Parents:- MATIJA (Mulijan on some papers I have) DOB: 18.12.1896 / KATHARINA WODENITSCHAR (or it could be VODENICAR) DOB: 26.2.1893 My father had 2 siblings a brother and a step sister (Maybe my grandmother re-married). This is the address I think my father lived with his parents before marriage (Solunska street nr 6 Sonta) I am assuming they were also catholic.
I dont have any information regarding the marriage and death of my grandparents or where they might be buried etc. My information is very limited.
I think my family roots are French connected but that is yet to be confirmed.
I am not sure if this is a relative but there is a priest named Mullion in `Batschsentiwan` I believe it is a village not too far from Apitan and Sonta. This priest also had a sister who was a nun and who did all the artwork in St. Michael`s Church in Windsor, Canada. This bit of information has been passed onto me but Im not sure how to follow this up.
Does anyone recognise this surname? I appreciate any information offered / or how I can find this priest.
Kind regards
Anna

Hello Sergej
Im sorry but it has taken me awhile to work out that you had replyed to my message )
I have some documents but not too sure what they mean I am also not too sure how to upload them to show them.
Kind regards Anna
Ana,
I checked some things out and wondered if you already checked with the LDS family history library centers. The Catholic Church did microfilm all their books and they can be accessed through these FHLC's.
Please let me know if you did this, before we go dig here

Sergej
Hi Sergej
I have contacted my local Family History center here where I live but am still waiting for them to get back to me its been like 8 weeks (I hope they havent forgotten about me) I have tried following it up but nothing yet I guess everything takes time. Meanwhile I just keep searching.
I found this link and did a name search http://www.totenbuch-donauschwaben.at/en/index.php
There were 11 hits for MOULLION Home town Batsch Brestowatz/ 3 hits for MULLION Home town Sonta and Neu- Slankamen I relize this all could be coincedence but its all really close these villages are not that far from Sonta.
I dont know where to go from here any advice much appreciated
Kind regards anna
Anna,
You will need to backtrace your roots ancestor by ancestor. The tricky part with Donauschwaben is that a lot of surnames are common, Call the center again, dont let them stonewall you.

Hi Sergej
Thankyou for that. Sergej How and where would I be able to request the birth certificate of my Grandfather MATIJA MULLION (Mulijan on some papers I have) DOB: 18.12.1896 Born Sonta.
I really dont have much of an idea as to how I would go about that. My only language is English so there is a language barrier.
Thanks again
Kind regards Anna
Birth certificates can be retrieved from the Archives, you should contact them and ask them for an extract.

Sergej
