Germany will soon open its Nazi archives. These archives contain millions of documents about the holocaust.
Researchers are now allowed to search through the documents. In the past only survivors and direct relatives were allowed to access these archives. The opening of the archives has been lobbied for by the survivors of the holocaust to make sure their stories are not being lost.
The German vice-minister of Foreign Affairs signs today the treaty with the International Red Cross the caretaker of these archives.

Do you know if there is an archive with the information on Nazi soldiers? There is a story that my greatgrandmother's brother was in SS and that he's missing.
No I am not sure. The only thing I do know is that the archives contain a pletora of information and some of it is from Serbia. You should check with them to see if you can gain access, the German archives are digital and perhaps the LDS Family History Library Center also has info on what you are looking for.

Thank you.
Problem is that I only know his name, which is very common, and his father's name, but I am not sure where and when they were born. So, how helpful LDS can be?
Ok, I just send you a PM. Just send me the info you have on your family. Or even better, open a new topic in the SGS members forum and we can discuss it there. Like others here I also have a real life besides this one so if sometimes it takes me longer to reply its because work is demanding more time then usual

Sergej
