I have just received this from the archive in croatia. I need help with translation. there was only one page but it was too big to scan once. So the two attachments are two halves of the same page. If the there is any problem I can scan and send it again.

Just a question, you need the whole document translated? Also could you attach a PAF file so I can add the names for you.

Sergej

Btw I am reading through this, there is no mention of a Knezevic just a Ugrinovic. Is this correct?

Sergej

No, there must have been some kind of mistake. I was asking for info on Knezevic only. This letter was in response to the email from the archive in Croatia that you translated for me. I have know idea why they sent me info on ugrinovic. I guess I will just try again? Any tips to make sure I get the right info?
Thanks for your help. Milan

Well the first post you posteed talked about a Petar and Maria being parents of Milan. Now unless Milan changed his surname from Knezevic into Ugrinovic then its ok but I dont see that anywhere on the form.

Write them back and explain them, maybe they made a mistake and send the wrong form. Also attach a PAF/Gedcom file here so I can check the dates/

Sergej

I wrote the archive back and explained to them that there was a mistake. they faxed me another copy however they said the first one is the same. only the part that pretains to Knezevic is at the bottom in section 32. If you look at the second attatchment of my earlier post you will see a red circle around the #32. your first post in this thread translated it. My question is this. I have info from my records that my great grandfather was born on November-7-1865 in meljani His father was Petar and mother Marija. The archive record says that a Ivan(jovan) Knezevic was born on sept-9-1865 in Meljani to same name of parents. in your opinion is the information close enough to be a real match to my great grandfather or should I continue to look for another. Also his father died in Slatina, Slavonia in 1876. I found an old map and it shows slatina and Meljani to be right next to eachother. where should I look to find any records of this or any possible burial site. My hope is to find his buriel site and hopefully the tombstone will have some more information on it. What do you think?
