I am looking for my Tata's family. Deda is Svetozar Nikolic born 1878 place of birth unknown to me and my baba Darinka Manic' 1884 unknown place of birth. My greatgrand father's name was Vlada. My Tata was born in Obilicevo 1912, So I figured that is where is my grandparents are from. My Tata was raised by his grandmother unknown name, unknown where. My Tata talked about Banat? But talked little about his life. Deda died on Austria front in 1914. My baba was put in a sanitorium when my tata went to serve in the 2nd world war. He was a P.O.W and served with the british until end of war and came to America in 1951. My Tata had a photo of 3 people that translated on the back of the picture For long lasting memory to our parents and little sister. From Natalya, Donica and Rastko unknown last name. I was told that it might be my step sisters and brother but that is not for sure. I have the picture on face book on the site of Novi Knezevac if anyone would like to see it. Don't know how to put it here. Any information on my Tata's family Nikolic or Manic' would get me one step closer to finding out who I am on my Tata's side. My Tata died Oct. 8 1994 and is deeply missed. My mother followed him May 25, 2008. I've always wanted to know my Serbian side. Thank you for any help that you can give me. I must have family out there. Donica Nikolic-Reed

Obilićevo is called today Novi Kneževac. If you contact the municipality they should be able to confirm your fathers data, and you can use that to further track data down. You can also check the phonebook for family names.

Sergej

Before I forget: http://www.belestrane.988info.rs/site/default.asp?lang=sr

Make sure to use Serbian spelling signs otherwise it will not work.

Sergej
