Hi Steve,

Can you send me the date of birth? I can't check right now but are you an SGS member? If so I can have them move this topic to the members forum where there is more privacy and you can post the dates there. In the mean time I will look up the Church address for you.

Regards,
Sergej

He is a member but I just saw that he made a payment for the year 2037, so I changed it and he should be able to access the site normally. Let me know if the post should be moved.

:-)Thanks Sergej, Too bad they are not on internet with email. I hope to get someone to go there and dig up the information for me. Maybe someone will volunteer for me, someone that is close to the cemetery.
Thank You
Regards
Stevan

Sergej - Thank you for the Google Earth/Google Maps suggestion. They are excellent. I can see Bocar and Nakovo, and make out surprising detail. A number of years ago, I tried to see the Kikinda vicinity with Google Earth, but the resolution was poor. Apparently they have updated their database.

My grandmother and grandfather, who immigrated to the U.S. in 1909, were from Bocar and Nakovo. My grandmother talked a lot about growing up in Bocar, and I would like to be able to use Google Earth to identify the street where she lived and where my grandfather lived in Nakovo.

Unfortunately, I cannot find a street listing for either village. I would appreciate any ideas about who to contact or where to look. Thanks again - jim

Your best bet is with the Church address I posted above. Google Maps is still a work in progress for Serbia so don't expect any online tool that shows all streets in Serbia yet.

Sergej

I apologize if this posts twice but my last comment seems to have gone into cyberspace.

Here is the link for the Serbian phone book: http://www.belestrane.988info.rs/site/default.asp?clear=all&lang=en

You need to enable cookies to be able to get to all of the listings. There are several listings for Balzovan set out below. Note that the postal code for Banatsko Novo Selo is 26314 in case you'd like to write.

Are you looking to establish contact with your extended family there?
