Have you found any linkages in you research to Plecas from Bruvno. My father Stevan was born 1917 to Mihajlo and Djuka and migrated to Australia after WWII. I would appreciate it if you have any info.

Porodica Plecas, koja je najvjerojatnije otisla u Kanadu u Vankuver, oko 1900 ili izmedju dva svetska rata. Bila su dva ili tri brata. Dali neko zna nesto o njima? Volio bi nesto vise doznati. [email protected]

bruvno Wrote: Hi,
Most probably we are from same family... your father and my grandfather (Jovan) were half-brothers. Your grandmother was Djuka, my father grand-mother was Milica (first wife of Mihajlo).
Stevan has: Mihajlo, Djordje, Jovan (name of my grandfather), Marija, Olga and Ruzica - so you must be one of this.
If this is correct, I could write to you pages and pages, send pictures... I was with husband and kids, summer of 2008 in Plecasi (after 23 years)....
I am waiting for your reply. As well, I can help about other families... around Bruvno.
Best regards, Slavica

Hi bplecas,

Happy New Year!

My grandmother is Jaga Plecas from Divoselo b. abt. 1895. Her father was Simo Plecas. Her siblings were Joseph, Mary and Marta (twins), Vaso, Boja, John, Milan, and Stevo. Her mother was Milica, I think Obradovich.

Do you know this Plecas family? Are you related?

Hvala,

Marlis

My great grandfather's sister was Jaga "Jane" Plecas who married Marko "Mark" Rajcevic(h). They lived in Chicago. Jaga's sister was Mary Plecas Obradovich (O'Bradovich) and she had two brothers - both who took the name John. One was Janko and I do not know the other's Serbian name (my great grandfather). My great-grandfather was married to Emma Hanson. He and his wife and two children (Willi and Emma) came through Halifax (July 1913) and settled in Iowa where he died in the 1918 flu pandemic. He had emigrated from Croatia to Metz, Germany to work as a miner. He came to the US from Germany. When Janko registered for the draft he listed his place of birth as Gospić.
