Hello everyone,
I am looking for anyone who may know or may be interested in the Rogic or Levic family from the Mandjelos village or thereabouts. Any information or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Sandra ROGIC

Dear Sandra,

(1) could you tell more precisely where the Mandjelos village is?
(in which part of Serb countries, or near which town/city)

(2) I see there are two surnames, therefore two families -- Rogic and Levic -- how those two families are related?

Dear Sasa,

Thankyou for your reply, The two surnames, ROGIC, and LEVIC, are connected by marriage, my grandfather, Radovoje Rogic, married, my grandmother Julka LEVIC.
If you have any information that could be of assistance, i would be grateful as i am finding it difficult to access archives from MANDJELOS where my father was from, and very difficult to see if I have any remaining family there, I do know that i have an uncle in America, but i donot know his name or even when he migrated to the USA.

Again many thanks,
Sandra.

Sandra, I found 132 Rogic's on the Ellis Island site. If you have your Uncles first name it would be helpful to you when looking.

Thankyou very much Sheila, but unfortunately I have no information at all about my uncle, on my fathers displaced persons papers he only states that he has an uncle that is living in the USA, but no name or address was given. I would dearly love to get in touch with my relatives as that is all i have left to connect me with my family.
Again many thanks,
Sandra

Sandra, I will try and see if I can perhaps find any thing for you on the Ellis Island website. It may take me some time, but hang in there. I spend hours on this computer re-searching my family. The SGS has been a great benefit to me. Not to mention really super nice people!!
Best Wishes,
Sheila

Thankyou sheila,
I very much appreciate your help, I agree the people from SGS are wonderful. I have looked at the ellis island site but just do not know where to begin. Again your help is very much appreciated as both my husband and I would fly to America if we had family there. Do you live in the States?
Many regards
Sandra

Dear Sheila,
Yes I know I should become a member, it is an excellent website, but I had alot of problems with my last pc, and now we have upgraded we are inundated with work and don't get much time to spend on the computer, but after september things should quieten down a bit so i will definately consider it then. I really don't have any time frame at all for when my fathers uncle came to the states, I can only ASSUME it was between the two world wars but it may have even been during ww1. Unfortunately not even my father new his whereabouts and he didn't leave any name on any of his paperwork. We only knew about his uncle moving there after dads death when i was looking through his displacement papers, as he had requested to go to the States and not Australia, the poor man was only trying to go where there was some family. These were very sad and hard times for them. Again many many thanks, oh and Colorado is a very beautiful place according to my friends who visited there recently.
Kind regards,
SANDRA.

Sandra, When you get a moment, e-mail me directly. I have an idea! My e-mail address is [email protected] .
Yes Colorado is a beautiful state. I've lived here almost 12 years, and am still trying to get use to the cold. I was born and raised in California. I'm surely not a snow bunny! Give me sunshine,a horse and a race car and I'm happy. Talk with you soon.
Miroljubiv malenkost,
Sheila
