Hello

I live overseas and don't really speak Serbian that well. I'm looking to create a family tree for Ljubica Stajic (or Stajikj). She was born on 10 October 1947 in or around Ruma Vojvodina. She later moved to Croatia around the 1970s and later to Macedonia in the 1980s.

I would like to create a family tree showing her parents and siblings. Its a gift on working on for my in laws for a birthday present.

Hi there,

Do you mean a family tree on paper or digital? We are wrapping up our digital version so this can be used anytime soon. Do you have any other info than the info you just posted?

Regards,
Sergej

Hello Sergej, when you say paper or digital do you mean searching for records? I don't know how well documents in Serbia are available digital.

I'm making a picture book with names and photos, so I've got most of it done. Stuck on this part.

Yes I have other information but don't want to post it online. I could share privately with someone who has experience searching with records in Serbia.

Well, the archives in Serbia are in the process of being microfilmed. That is some of them, not all of them. It is a very chaotic process, nothing is really digital.. So if you are looking for genealogical data you would have to write to the archives using snail mail šŸ˜‰

We have a letter template that you can use for approaching the archives in combination with the Archival Network to find the proper region. Needless to say that Serbia is seriously lagging in this field.

Regards,
Sergej
