I am looking for information on the last name of Vucenovic. More specifically, it's origins. My family is from Dalmatinsko Kosovo, village of Ramljane. I run across Vucenovic's from Crna Gora, Banja Luka, Sarajevo. I was wondering where the name originated. From folklore, I've heard it originated around the Kosovo-Crna Gora border area. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, where can I find out information beyond my grandparents? I've got only the first names of their parents. All were from Dalmatia. Do any archives exist anywhere such as marriage or birth/death records for the Dalmatinsko Kosovo area? Unfortunately, many people from that area that would know this info are already dead.
Yes the name originates from Montenegro/Kosovo. What you need to do now is contact the Croatian archives in Dalmatinska Kosovo and see what information they hold. You can also contact the Serbian Orthrodox Churches to see if they have anything but I wouldnt could on it.
All of Croatias archives are microfilmed.

I have found a village in Kosovo near Vitina that has the same name, Ramljane, as our village in Dalmatinsko Kosovo. I am going to try to contact the SOC in Kosovo and the SOC diocese of Dalmatia to gather more into. It may be possible that is where my family originated. Any thoughts?
I'd say most likely Montenegro. Its comon that families migrated from Montenegro into Serbia and then Dalmatia or the other way around.
